About the opportunity

Based in the Cambridge head office and supporting activities nationally and internationally, you will promote Quality, Supplier Quality and Continuous Improvement activities for precision products, whilst reducing waste, variation and defects.

Deliverables
- Quality Audits and Improvement Plans: Conduct detailed audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure adherence to rigorous manufacturing and quality standards. Develop and implement enhancement plans in collaboration with suppliers, focusing on defect prevention and continuous improvement.
- Enhanced Supplier Quality Metrics Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to scrutinize and uplift supplier quality metrics, particularly in manufacturing processes. Drive initiatives to elevate supplier quality and enhance manufacturing efficiency.  
- Root Cause Analysis and Preventive Strategies: Conduct exhaustive root cause analysis of quality issues with a manufacturing lens. Formulate preventive strategies to avert future issues, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products and maintaining the integrity of the brand globally.

Person Requirements
- Supplier Quality Engineering Experience: Demonstrable background in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, showcasing the ability to uphold stringent quality standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with ISO Standards and Quality Management Systems: Strong familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems, coupled with expertise in design for manufacture (DFM) to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturing repeatability.  
- Data Analysis and Communication Skills: Ability to dissect data and trends effectively, coupled with excellent communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, driving alignment towards quality objectives and fostering strong working relationships.

- Manage a team of quantum physicist and RF engineers

- Propose the objectives of the team and define the priorities together with the CTO

Requirements
- PhD in Quantum Physics or Electrical engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or other related field (or demonstrated industry experience)
- Minimum 2+ years of postdoc or R&D work in Electrical engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or other related field
- Previous relevant experience with team management (at least 5 persons)
- Basic understanding of good software development practices, Python language, and version control systems
- Ability to distil and communicate scientific information effectively with the wider team
- Good communication in English (verbal and written)
- Experience with multi qubits electronic circuits /low temperature electronics/transport experiments is seen as an advantage

We are working in partnership with a young and exciting company in London who are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join their small and growing team. 

The company in question are pioneering the development of cutting-edge drones to be used for various applications and across industries and differing end clients. Having already developed two initial UAV models, they're looking to expand their capability across engineering and are growing their R&D team accordingly. 

In your position as Electronics Engineer, you will be tasked with re-developing hardware solutions of existing models and for new designs as per customer specifications. You will be looking at developing power distributions for avionic applications and working closely with your mechanical and software counterparts.   

In addition to a formal qualification within Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics or a similar technical discipline, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Design of complex PCBs, preferably within avionics (but this is not essential)
- Good knowledge of power distributions for low-power devices
- Prior experience working on autonomous and/or unmanned vehicles
- A passion for working on drones, UAVs, and avionic systems
- Knowledge of robotic controls

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Team Lead will supervise a team of multi-skilled engineers.
  
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers and work closely with the Engineering Manager to assist on maintenance strategies and projects.
- Oversee and participate in repairing faults as the first port of call for machine breakdowns
- Provide technical support to achieve production output standards
- Plan and execute pro-active preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Work from mechanical and schematic drawings to assist with fault finding
- Advise on technical issues, liaising with engineers and the production team, as well as supporting continuous improvement activities

- Repair faults as the first port of call for machine breakdowns
- Provide technical support to achieve production output standards
- Plan and execute pro-active preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Work from mechanical and schematic drawings to assist with fault finding
- Advise on technical issues, liaising with engineers and the production team, as well as supporting continuous improvement activities
- Monitor machine performance
  
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Experienced supervising a team of engineers
- Qualified to 17th Edition level or equivalent, with a good knowledge of fault finding and repair in electrical and mechanical
- Proven previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as robotics
- IT literate and able to navigate systems easily
- Organised and self-motivated with a safety awareness of electrical, compressed air, and pressurized systems
- UK driving license and be available to support visits to supplier sites.

About the opportunity

In this role, you'll be responsible for calibrating and integrating hybrid and electric vehicles, conducting software testing, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting.

You'll research innovative driving features, work independently in a small team, support vehicle testing in various conditions, analyse data for improvements, and contribute to research and production program features.

Deliverables
- Responsible for calibration and integration activities on both hybrid and pure electric vehicle projects.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Engineer will work alongside a team of multi-skilled engineers and maintenance support technicians.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading the 3-shift maintenance team.
- Being the 'go-to' for any advanced engineering problems
- Conducting reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services, PPM and minor projects.
- Working on steam systems, boilers, checkweighers, flow wrappers, baggers, etc.
- Overseeing and undertaking accurate and efficient changeovers
- H&S and safe work practices
- Food safety, minimizing day to day risks with running of the plant and involving contractors
- Plan is king, ensure that the company can hit its required targets
- Firefighting machinery / site services upkeep and carrying out ongoing maintenance PPM in a timely manner
-  Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of the running of the company
- Minimize down time
- Train / guide production staff in the correct way to treat our machinery and help train our maintenance technicians from within our department.
- Work on projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager
- Any other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager
  
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE   
- Apprentice trained, in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Multi-skilled.
- Experienced in FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Ideally with senior/team lead experience but would look at engineers looking at making the step up.

- Ability to maintain a high level of discipline associated with the daily compliance of hygiene standards and the safe operation of factory equipment
