A rapidly growing automotive components manufacturer currently requires a Technical Buyer to join an expanding Procurement and Supply Chain team, in an engaging and unique workplace. 

About the role
The Technical Buyer will work closely with business and functional leads as both as strategic and operational procurement lead for castings / machine spend. As the purchasing lead for sourcing and managing casting spend, you will purchase cast parts, manage and develop supplier relationships to improve quality and delivery performance. This role will be responsible for creating and completing strategic objectives aimed at reducing costs and improving operating efficiencies.
 
About you:
We are looking for someone with extensive and proven experience in sourcing within a technical environment (engineering, automotive, manufacturing) having managed large spends. You will have proven experience building and developing strong working relationships with both our internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have castings and machining procurement experience (preferred, but not essential)
- Be innovative and resilient
- Have an eye for detail with good organisation and planning skills
- Have the ability to influence, negotiate and communicate at all levels
- Work well under pressure
- Manage your own time and meet deadlines

- Use your initiative to work both independently and as part of a small team
