Senior Process Engineer (Outside IR35)
Rate: £40 - £50 per hour
Manchester or Motherwell (hybrid working)
Contract duration: 6 months initially
SUMMARY:
For this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Designers working to deliver an exciting new major production facility in the UK. The product is related to environmental protection and will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. You will be working remotely with occasional visits to the office and client offices. As a senior engineer, you will be part of a large multidisciplinary team working on this project from several locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of P&ID’s
- Heat and mass balance calculations
- Production of process datasheets, specifications and schedules for equipment and packages
- Pressure drop and pump sizing calculations
- Attending HAZOP reviews and other risk assessments
- Equipment sizing calculations
- Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors
- Utility system specification, design and capacity evaluation
- Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings
- Assist in plant layout development
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ability to work to a programme and work-hour budget
- Ensure the design meets regulatory and best practice standards for process engineering design
- Liaise directly with the client and represent the company in a polite and professional manner
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Chartered Member of IChemE
- Experience of one of the following: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or food & drink sectors
- Experience of detailed process engineering design and calculations
Desirable:
- Experience of using Comos intelligent P&ID’s
- Experience of using ABBPEL software
- Experience of pressure relief system design
- Experience of detailed design of process utility systems including cooling water, hot water, steam and condensate
