We are working with a leading game development studio based in Manchester, UK. They have a friendly and collaborative culture where everyone is valued and respected. They work hard but also have fun along the way. They are looking for a Senior Graphics Programmer to join their team and help them create stunning visuals for their games.
As a Senior Graphics Programmer, you will:
- Develop and maintain rendering systems and shaders using UE4
- Optimize graphics performance and quality for various hardware platforms
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and other programmers to deliver stunning visuals
- Research and implement new graphics techniques and features
- Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in game graphics
What does a typical day look like for you?
You will start your day by checking your email and Slack messages. No Crunch. You will then dive into coding, debugging, testing, or reviewing code. You will also communicate with other teams to coordinate tasks and resolve issues. You will end your day by updating your project management tool (Jira) and documenting your work.
What do you need to succeed in this role?
You should have:
- Significant experience making video games as a graphics programmer
- Expertise in UE4 rendering and graphics
- Proficiency in C++ programming
- Experience with HLSL and DirectX 12
- Knowledge of PBR, HDR, and other rendering techniques
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience with console development and porting
- Familiarity with multiple graphics libraries (e.g., OpenGL, Vulkan)
- Experience with real-time game content pipeline and tools
