Quality Engineer – Goods Inward

Ulverston – 4 Day Working Week
Up to £36,500 Starting Salary & Benefits Package

Summary:
·      Reporting to the Quality Manager the Quality Engineer-Goods Inward inspection is responsible for competing Goods Inward inspection activity on Electrical and Mechanical parts and materials. Supporting the Quality manager with Quality Engineering activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·      Completion & Verification of First Article Inspection and Partial First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
·      Produce CMM / Manual Measurements on Electrical and Mechanical Products.
·      Compile measurement reports and inspection history reports
·      Conduct Goods Inward Inspections using samples.
·      Identify non-conformances and ensure the timely completion of reports and closure of corrective actions within target dates
·      Use the MRB process to ensure timely dispositions and effective root cause corrective action of problems.

Qualifications/Experience:
·      5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths and English
·      NC/BTEC in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience in a Quality Control role
·      Detailed experience of working in an ISO9001 environment and working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent experience.
·      Experience of using electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies and multi-meters
·      Ability to measure parts using standard mechanical measuring equipment (digital Caliper, Height gauge, profile Projector, etc.)
·      Experience of reading and understanding detailed engineering drawings is essential.

Desired Skills:
·      Beneficial CMM Measuring Systems Experience including operating and programming. (Preferred 3M software and Aberlink 3D but training can be provided)
·      Skilled in the use of MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook)
