A globally focused research and development organisation is hiring a Programme Manager to lead and scale delivery efforts across a portfolio of artificial intelligence programmes. This role sits within the AI Capability function and plays a central part in turning vision into operational success. The Programme Manager will collaborate closely with AI scientists, applied ML teams, and leadership across the organisation to ensure complex, multi-year initiatives are delivered with focus, structure, and momentum. Your role as Programme Manager
Lead and develop a team of programme managers, fostering a collaborative, delivery-focused culture
Translate strategic direction into actionable delivery plans across scientific and technical workstreams
Oversee AI projects end-to-end — managing timelines, budgets, risks, and resource planning
Build transparency into programme performance through clear communications and reporting frameworks
Define infrastructure, staffing, and funding requirements, and support operational roll-out once approved
Enable deep knowledge-sharing and trust-building across diverse scientific, operational, and leadership teams
Experience and qualifications for the Programme Manager role
Extensive experience leading large-scale AI research or product programmes, ideally in a scientific or high-impact setting
Solid understanding of AI development lifecycles, data infrastructure, and ethical AI principles
Proven stakeholder management skills with an ability to align cross-functional teams at all levels
Confident navigating evolving environments, bringing clarity and direction to ambiguous programme goals
Experience building collaborative and inclusive cultures across technical and non-technical communities
Familiarity with one or more global challenge domains such as health, food systems, energy, or public policy is a plus
