An ambitious and mission-led research organisation is seeking a Product Manager to join their Applied Machine Learning function. Focused on transforming scientific breakthroughs into real-world AI products, this role plays a central part in bridging technical development with domain and programme impact — from climate and energy to healthcare and advanced materials.

Working at the intersection of AI, data science, and science-led innovation, this is a rare opportunity to influence how machine learning products are shaped, built, and applied in environments where the end goal is societal benefit, not just commercial scale. The Product Manager will lead from the centre: driving product vision, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring delivery is grounded in real user and programme needs.

Your role as Product Manager

  • Define product strategy for Applied ML tools aligned with broader scientific and programme priorities

  • Translate complex scientific or operational problems into actionable product requirements for technical teams

  • Act as the voice of the end user across development cycles, ensuring relevance and usability of technical outputs

  • Coordinate cross-functional development efforts across data scientists, engineers, and programme leads

  • Guide the launch and iteration of new AI-driven tools across healthcare, climate, agtech, and other critical domains

  • Report on progress, risks, and impact to stakeholders across technical, operational, and executive layers

Experience and qualifications for the Product Manager role

  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI or software products in technical or science-driven environments

  • Strong familiarity with applied science areas such as healthcare, materials, energy, climate, or geospatial tech

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical, academic, and business audiences

  • Proven ability to lead in ambiguous, high-growth environments with a hands-on, proactive mindset

  • Comfortable synthesising technical and non-technical information for varied audiences

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to unite cross-functional teams around a shared goal

This is a permanent opportunity within a growing organisation focused on solving global problems through AI. Apply now for immediate consideration — or reach out to explore other roles in applied AI product leadership.
