Our client is a global leader in Building Products manufacturing. An opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled biased Engineer to join the Maintenance team.
Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, the Multi-Skilled biased Engineer will work alongside a team of multi-skilled, automation and PLC engineers.

This position offers extensive avenues for progression into advanced levels of engineering as well as PLC/Automation engineering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform standard Maintenance Technician functions such as the completion of Work Orders and PMs in accordance to the maintenance plan.
- Attend the Daily DMS and take ownership of actions as required, completing tasks on time and providing feedback to the team.
- Provide assistance in resolving machine breakdowns.
- Support all members of the daily maintenance team (Supervisor, Planner, Reliability and Stores)
- Cover absence of other Shift Technicians as required.
- Participate in major improvement projects.
- Lead or participate in 8D projects to eliminate repeat failures.
- Promote TPM methodology and play an active role in implementation.
- Be the point of contact for suppliers and contractors and provide supervision in accordance to company safety requirements as required.
- Participate in the generation and improvement of maintenance documentation, such as OPLs, SOPs, PMs, 8Ds, etc.
- Develop current machine documentation, drawings and storage.
- Provide training and support to the maintenance and production teams as required.
- Actively find machine abnormalities and highlight issues by creating Notifications in SAP.
- As part of the infrequently used Maintenance Escalation Process, provide out of hours support to the Shift Technicians by supporting over the phone or attending site if required.

  QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE   
- Apprentice trained in electrical engineering.
- Multi-skilled at least 70/30.
- Ideally experienced in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

SKILLS
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Ability to maintain a high level of discipline associated with the daily compliance of hygiene standards and the safe operation of factory equipment
