Join a UK-based precision medicine biotech developing diagnostic tools that help clinicians prescribe the right treatment, faster. You’ll be part of a growing software team supporting the analysis of large-scale phospho-proteomics data – work that sits at the intersection of biology, data science, and software engineering.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll help build and maintain the infrastructure and tools that make complex biological data accessible to researchers, clinicians, and collaborators. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values clear scientific thinking, clean code, and practical problem-solving.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and maintain relational databases and bioinformatics infrastructure to manage high-throughput biological and clinical datasets
  • Optimise pipelines and algorithms for proteomics data integration, quantification, and downstream analysis
  • Build clean, user-friendly internal tools and dashboards for exploring experimental data
  • Work closely with scientists and developers to improve analysis workflows and build new features
  • Maintain system reliability through documentation, testing, and robust version control

About you:

  • Comfortable building performant software in C/C++, working across Linux or Windows environments depending on the application
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, particularly using MySQL
  • Familiar with omics data processing pipelines, ideally proteomics
  • Exposure to biomarker discovery workflows, experimental design, or LC-MS/MS data
  • Confident working across scientific and technical teams, with clear communication and collaborative mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in biotech, translational research, or regulated start-up environments
  • Familiar with Python, R, C#, and/or JavaScript—especially in a data analysis context
  • Comfortable developing interactive dashboards using tools like Dash or Plotly
  • Understands data governance, privacy, and compliance in biomedical applications
  • Exposure to DevOps practices, automated deployment, or infrastructure scaling
  • Experience managing both Linux and Windows systems in production settings

This is a chance to contribute to real-world clinical impact, supporting a mission that combines cutting-edge proteomics with practical diagnostic tools.

If you’re detail-oriented, curious, and motivated by building tools that make biological data more actionable -we’d love to hear from you.
