Cubiq have recently partnered with a revolutionary new air taxi transportation client developing all electrical, vertical take-off and landing aircraft to shape the future of urban e-mobility.
 
We are looking for outstanding Battery Cell Engineers to join an innovative team of 400 world class leaders, experts and engineers who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology within emissions-free transportation. 
 
Your role and your Team:
 
This position will report to the Head of Electronic & Electrical Design and will contribute, as part of an integrated cross-functional team, to the battery systems architecture, design, certification and delivery. This will include supporting the integration and validation of the latest cell technology into the design of the optimal battery system tailored to the e-VTOL.
 
Your Day to Day:
  • Create specifications of battery modules and packs with respect to energy and power requirements, safety, and technological limits
  • Contribute to a better understanding of Li-ion cell and battery performance to shape and design the best-suited battery system for the e-VTOL application
  • Understand the Li-ion cell degradation methods and battery failure modes to support battery development
  • Collaborate to develop innovative tests to study battery properties and behaviour under abuse conditions
  • Develop tests to ensure compliance of battery performance, safety and regulations
  • Transfer new cell technologies into battery development pipeline
  • Interpret requirements, apply standards and relate knowledge to situations and challenges to develop solutions
  • Be able to work on ad-hoc related tasks provided by management
Your profile:
  • PhD, MSc or equivalent degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or a related field required
  • 1-2 years of experience working in the Li-ion battery field is mandatory
  • Advanced knowledge of Li-ion battery and energy storage technology is required
  • Practical experience testing of any commercially available Li-ion cell formats is required
  • Matlab and mathematical modelling of Li-ion battery designs would be beneficial
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously is required
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
